Time Traveller

Brenda Hui

Artist Statement

A wormhole is like a tunnel that links different points of time together. In science-fiction, this allows time-travellers to travel freely between time and space. The artwork itself is a “wormhole” that brings audience to an imaginary universe that is full of huge cats, floating islands and planets, weaving the present into a fantastic parallel world.

Within this large wormhole are two smaller ones that connect to Tamar Park of two different worlds, one under the sea and one covered with greenery, probing the possibility of parallel universes. The optical illusions of the artwork challenge the gravity and scale of objects and depth of space, illustrating the maximal extended, boundless expanse of wormholes.
