Artist Statement

Humans have grown curious about all things around since the beginning of their existence, but to some people, everything in this world was created by God. In Timaeus, written circa 360 BC, the Greek philosopher Plato discussed organic and inorganic substances, postulating that some substances possess geometric properties. With the development of science, chemists and physicists have discovered that matter can be divided into molecules, and molecules are composed of one or more atoms, which are held together by gravitational forces, substantiating Plato’s hypothesis in Timaeus. This artwork represents a colourful world of molecular structures with reference to Timaeus, showing the gravitational forces inside the structures through augmented reality.
